PDF accessibility
Make your PDFs accessible: tags, reading order and alt text, ready for review.
Upload a PDF. Get a tagged PDF with headings, reading order, lists and table structure, draft alt text for images, and a report against PDF/UA and WCAG checks showing what still needs a person.

What a decode looks like
Synthetic example. Every note points at the exact line it is about.
- Heading: Budget summary 2026
- Chart: spending by department (image)
- Table: department · budget · change
- Footnote: figures in thousands of dollars
- Page number and running header
Why this is hard
Manual tagging is slow
Tagging a long report by hand takes hours, and per-page remediation services add up fast across a document library.
Automatic tags are often wrong
Built-in auto-tagging guesses the reading order and table headers, and errors are easy to miss without a screen reader.
Deadlines are coming
Public bodies in the US face web accessibility rules for documents, and many organisations now ask suppliers for accessible PDFs.
What you get
- A tagged PDF with headings, reading order, lists and table headers
- Draft alt text for images and charts, marked for your review
- A report against PDF/UA and WCAG checks: what passed and what still needs a person
- Decorative items such as page numbers and running headers marked as artifacts
What it is not
An automated first pass with a review report. It doesn't certify compliance, and a person should confirm reading order and alt text before you publish.

Questions
Will the result be compliant?
We don't certify compliance. You get a tagged PDF and a report against PDF/UA and WCAG checks; a person should review the flagged items before publishing.
Why not just ask ChatGPT?
A chatbot can describe an image, but it can't produce a tagged PDF with reading order and table structure. What we're testing is a tool that writes the tags into the file and reports what still needs a person.
Who is this for?
Teams that publish PDFs: local government, schools and universities, non-profits and businesses whose customers ask for accessible documents. Business plans with batch upload are planned.
